The New IXTC Village

08.10.17

In June we were thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of our IXTC Village for Summer 2017. The Village area consists of two new cabins situated away from the lakeside all sports cabins. The private wooded location of the IX cabins offers an exclusive space for this ultimate teen experience.

A mutual campfire sits between the male and female cabins, where our campers share experiences and memories during IX campfire nights. This scenic location also features a social area complete with picnic benches and ping-pong.

The interiors of the cabins consist of large open space rooms with bathrooms that include all the modern conveniences of home; tile floors, spacious showers, and large vanity countertop areas. Complete with warm rugs and individual cubbies to accommodate all the belongings needed for a week at camp, the IXTC village really is a home away from home.

The campers have been thrilled with their new space. Eight-year camper Rose Genstein described it as “such a homey space. I felt comfortable from the minute I arrived. It’s added a real uniqueness to the IXTC program, and it’s made it even more special than it already was.”

The IXTC program takes adventure to another level. It is jam-packed with extreme sports from start to finish; from jet skiing and tubing at our private waterfront, to playing laser tag in our specially designed course, to dune buggying as the sun goes down, our campers are able to experience something new every day. The time-honored tradition of facing against the All Sports coaches during Tuesday night dodgeball is another all-time favorite.

The incredible atmosphere at the Village allows our campers and staff to feel a sense of community within their program that helps to develop close bonds. Rose explains, “in the All Sports program, the role of your coach and your counselor is very different. In IXTC, we are all one big family. The environment of the Village strengthens our bond, even after spending the entire day with the same people!”

The previous IXTC cabins are now used for our All Sports program, meaning we can accommodate more campers and reduce waitlists! For more information on the IXTC program, head over to the IXTC page of our website.
