Every summer one of our favorite sessions at ISTC is the 4th of July week. Campers who choose to come to camp for this week get to enjoy an amazing time filled with celebration, fun and fireworks.
We love seeing our staff and international campers celebrate this most American of holidays with us. For many of them it’s their first time in the states, and they certainly make the most of it by getting involved with everything from costumes to face painting.
Our highlight of the week is a professional fireworks display over the lake. Campers enjoy a lakeside dance party in the evening, and as the sun sets, they settle in for a front-row view of the stunning light show. Nothing beats sitting lakeside with your camp friends watching the fireworks reflect over our perfect lake.
The 4th of July just wouldn’t be the same without some amazing food, and our food service team has that covered! Everyone gathers together for the traditional meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, delicious sides, fresh fruit, desserts and ice cold drinks. With some classic American tunes playing in the background, it’s a fun and casual holiday dinner, just like at home.
The whole week is filled with sports and patriotic themed events, and it is always a camper favorite. From the American pride-filled recreation events, to campers decorating their cabins in red, white and blue, to the enthusiasm that everyone brings while celebrating our great nation, it’s the perfect week to be at camp, so sign up today!
