With international in our name, celebrating one of America’s most established holidays during the ISTC experience is an absolute blast!
So much of our programming focuses on teaching campers sports from around the world, although 4th of July is a chance for us to bask in red, white, and blue. The 4th of July celebrations supplement the action-packed sports activities, making it one of the most exciting times to be at ISTC. Let’s dive into what makes this week so awesome!
4th of July Fireworks
Every week finishes with a culminating activity as part of our cabin-of-the-week competitions – and there’s nothing better than a private fireworks show to bring everyone together. The fireworks take place at camp over the lake, giving everyone a picturesque view. Not to mention, the watch party is full of music and the week’s rewind video – truly the cherry on top of an already amazing week.
Patriotic Camp Events
The rest of the week’s cabin-of-the-week competitions are America themed! From classic relay events to unique ones like building a giant sand castle structure, they are full of patriotic flair. The Wednesday night dance is also filled with red, white, and blue costumes. Most notably, these times are focused on bringing everyone together for high energy fun.
All American Cookout
To celebrate the holiday, our Food Service team prepares the most extravagant meal of the summer – a hearty cookout that includes burgers, ribs, chicken wings, hotdogs, specialty salads, and more. We are fortunate that our chefs not only cook for camp, but are also part of our year round team that specializes in weddings. They redefine camp dining and love getting creative with the holiday menu.
Signature Activities
The fireworks, the cabin-of-the-week events, and the cookout are additions to the signature sports experience. All groups will jet ski, banana boat, rock climb, mountain bike as well as partake in all of the team sports. ISTC would not be the same if we altered the All Sports or IXTC schedules.
Flexibility to Celebrate with Family
If the week’s excitement wasn’t enough, our sessions are built with flexibility in mind, meaning you can celebrate the holiday with us and your family. All weeks start on a Sunday, and you can pick between a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday checkout. Depending how 4th of July falls, you can experience everything!
