Do you love ISTC? Are you at least 16? Have you been an awesome ISTC camper? Are you ready for the most challenging summer at ISTC yet? Do you love kids and hard work? If you can answer "YES!" to all 5 questions, and are ready for more challenges, then you should check out our counselor-in-training (CIT) program!

Being a CIT at ISTC is a big deal and a big step! You go from being taken care of as a camper, to the one having to take care of campers. It is both an incredible opportunity and an awesome responsibility!

In order to be considered for a CIT position, applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have been an ISTC camper for at least two years. To be a CIT, you have to really want to work with kids, be responsible, and mature.

All CIT's must fill out a one page application at the office when they are checking out. Next you will be mailed a more detailed application that must be completed in the fall. Make sure you are the one contacting the camp and completing the paperwork - not your parents. We are not hiring your parents - we are hiring you. Again, we are looking for you to show initiative!

You should know that the CIT program is very competitive. With more and more campers applying, and CIT's returning every year, only a few slots become available. If you are selected as a CIT, you will be notified in December.

All CIT's must attend a mandatory orientation in April or May. Most first-year CIT's work for two consecutive weeks. CIT's do not have to pay for camp, instead we pay you!

"This is an awesome experience and a once in a lifetime chance to give the campers' an awesome experience - just like our counselors did for us."
